Important safety information

Tadalafil + Atorvastatin is a compounded product and is not FDA-approved. The FDA does not verify the safety or effectiveness of compounded drugs.

Tadalafil + Atorvastatin is a prescription medicine used for the treatment of sexual dysfunction (Tadalafil) and to help lower the amount of cholesterol produced in the body (Atorvastatin). Tadalafil + Atorvastatin is not for females or children.

Do not take Tadalafil + Atorvastatin if you:
  • take medicines called nitrates (such as nitroglycerin, isosorbide mononitrate and isosorbide dinitrates), often prescribed for chest pain

  • take medicines called cobicistat, indinavir, ritonavir, saquinavir, atazanavir (used to treat HIV), ketoconazole, or itraconazole (used to treat fungal infections)

  • use street drugs called "poppers" or “rush” such as amyl nitrate or butyl nitrate

  • use cocaine

  • take medicines called guanylate cyclase stimulators such as riociguat (Adempas) for pulmonary hypertension. Your blood pressure could drop to an unsafe level

  • have, or have had, a history of congestive heart failure, coronary artery disease, coronary bypass surgery, coronary angioplasty/stent, heart attack, stroke/mini stroke/TIA, diabetes, or any vascular conditions affecting the arteries or veins

  • currently have liver problems, unexplained increases in liver enzymes, or have had a liver transplant

  • are allergic to Tadalafil or Atorvastatin; or any of the ingredients in Tadalafil + Atorvastatin tablets. Inactive ingredients include: Magnesium Stearate, Citric Acid, Sucralose, Colorcon Pigment Blend brown PB-2050, Microcrystalline cellulose, Bitterness masking powder and Dextrose

  • are already taking a PDE5 inhibitor for the treatment of erectile dysfunction (ED), such as sildenafil (Viagra©), tadalafil (Cialis©), or vardenafil (Levitra©)

  • are already taking a statin for the treatment of elevated cholesterol, such as simvastatin (Zocor©), rosuvastatin (Crestor©), pravastatin (Pravachol©), atorvastatin (Lipitor©), lovastatin (Mevachor©), or fluvastatin (Leschol©)

  • are younger than 18 years old

Before taking Tadalafil + Atorvastatin, tell your healthcare provider if you:
  • have or have had heart problems such as a heart attack, irregular heartbeat, angina, chest pain, narrowing of the aortic valve, or heart failure

  • have had heart surgery within the last 6 months

  • have pulmonary hypertension

  • have had a stroke or mini stroke (TIA)

  • have low blood pressure, or high blood pressure that is not controlled

  • have a deformed penis shape

  • have had an erection that lasted for more than 4 hours

  • have problems with your blood cells such as sickle cell anemia, multiple myeloma, or leukemia

  • have retinitis pigmentosa, a rare genetic (runs in families) eye disease

  • have ever had severe vision loss, including an eye problem called NAION

  • have any bleeding disorders

  • have or have had stomach ulcers

  • have kidney problems or are having kidney dialysis

  • have liver problems such as cirrhosis, hepatitis, fatty liver or persistently elevated liver enzymes.

  • drink more than 2 alcoholic beverages per day

  • have myasthenia gravis

  • have high blood sugar, prediabetes or diabetes

  • have thyroid problems

  • have unexplained muscle pain or weakness

  • have been told that you have genetic variations in the ABCG2 and/or SLCO1B1 genes. This may increase the level of Atorvastatin in your blood

  • have any other medical conditions

Tell your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.

**If you should require emergency treatment for a heart problem it will be very important for your healthcare provider to know when you last took Tadalafil + Atorvastatin.

Tadalafil + Atorvastatin may affect the way other medicines work, and other medicines may affect the way Tadalafil + Atorvastatin works, causing side effects. Be sure to tell your healthcare provider if you take any of the following:

  • medicines called nitrates, such as nitroglycerin (Nitrostat© or Nitrodur©) or isosorbide (Imdur© or Isordil©)

  • medicines called guanylate cyclase stimulators such as riociguat (Adempas©)

  • medicines called alpha blockers such as terazosin (Hytrin©), tamsulosin (Flomax©), doxazosin (Cardura©), prazosin (Minipress©), alfuzosin (Uroxatral©), dutasteride and tamsulosin (Jalyn©), or silodosin (Rapaflo©) Alpha-blockers are sometimes prescribed for prostate problems or high blood pressure. In some patients, the use of tadalafil with alpha-blockers can lead to a drop in blood pressure or to fainting.

  • other medicines that treat high blood pressure

  • other medicines or treatments for ED

  • medicines called antihepacviral combination products, such as ombitasvir/paritaprevir/ritonavir/dasabuvir (Viekira Pak©), glecaprevir/pibrentasvir (Mavyret©) or sofosbuvir/velpatasvir/voxilaprevir (Vosevi©)

  • medicine to treat hepatitis B virus, such as ledipasvir/sofosbuvir (Harvoni©) or elbasvir/grazoprevir (Zepatier©)

  • medicine to treat prostate cancer, such as darolutamide (Nubeqa©)

  • medicine to treat multiple sclerosis, such as teriflunomide (Aubagio©)

  • medicine to treat certain causes of an enlarged heart, such as tafamidis (Vyndamax© or Vyndaqel©)

  • medicine called asunaprevir (Sunvepra©)

  • medicine called eltrombopag (Promacta©)

  • medicine for immunosuppression, such as cyclosporine (Gengraf© or Neoral© or SandIMMUNE©)

  • medicine to treat high triglycerides, such as gemfibrozil (Lopid©), fenobrate (Tricor©) or bezafibrate

  • medicine called colchicine (Colcyis© or Gloperba©)

  • medicines called HIV protease inhibitors, such as ritonavir (Norvir©), atazanavir sulfate (Reyataz©), atazanavir/cobicistat (Evotaz©), cobicistat (Tybost©), darunavir (Prezista©), darunavir/cobicistat (Precobix©), darunavir/Cobicistat/ Emtricitabine/Tenofovir alafenamide (Symtuza©), efavirenze (Sustiva©), elvitegravir/cobicistat/ emtricitabine/tenofovir alafenamide (Genvoya©), elvitegravir/cobicistat/ emtricitabine/tenofovir (Stribild©), fostemsavir (Rukobia©), indinavir sulfate (Crixivan©), lopinavir/ritonavir (Kaletra©), nelfinavir (Viracept©), tipranavir (Aptivus©), saquinavir (Invirase© or Fortovase©)

  • medicines called leniolisib (Joenza©) or pacritinib (Vonjo©)

  • medicine called lonafarnib (Zokinvy©)

  • some types of oral antifungal medicines, such as posaconazole (Noxafil©), ketoconazole (Nizoral©) and itraconazole (Sporanox©)

  • medicine called sparsentan (Filspari©)

  • medicine containing taurursodiol (Relyvrio©)

  • medicine called daptomycin(Daptuza©)

  • some types of antibiotics, such as clarithromycin (Biaxin©), azithromycin (Zithromax©), telithromycin (Ketek©), erythromycin (E.E.S.© or Ery-Tab©), or fusidic acid

  • medicine called lanthanum (Fosrenol©)

  • medicine called letermovir (Prevymis©)

  • medicine to treat Covid called nirmatrelvir/ritonavir (Paxlovid©)

  • medicine called rifampin (Rifadin©)

  • medicine called trofinetide (Daybue©)

  • certain medicines that treat high blood pressure, such as verapamil (Calan©, Tarka© or Verelan©), diltiazem (Cartia© or Cardizem©)

  • medicine called sofosbuvir/velpatasvir/voxilaprevir (Vosevi©)

  • other medicines to treat high cholesterol, such as lomitapide (Juxtapid©) or other statins such as pravastatin (Pravachol©), atorvastatin (Lipitor©), simvastatin (Zocor©), rosuvastatin (Crestor©), rosuvastatin/ezetimibe (Roszet©), fluvastatin (Lescol©), or lovastatin (Altoprev©)

  • an over-the-counter supplement called Red Yeast Rice

  • an over-the-counter supplement called St. John’s Wort

  • an over-the-counter supplement called niacin

  • an over-the-counter supplement called skullcap (baicalin)

  • regularly consume grapefruit juice

  • regularly take antacids to treat heartburn

Tadalafil + Atorvastatin can cause serious side effects.

Rarely reported side effects include:
  • an erection that will not go away (priapism). If you have an erection that lasts more than 4 hours, get medical help right away. If it is not treated right away, priapism can permanently damage your penis

  • sudden vision loss in one or both eyes. Sudden vision loss in one or both eyes can be a sign of a serious eye problem called non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION). It is uncertain whether PDE5 inhibitors directly cause vision loss. Stop taking Tadalafil + Atorvastatin and call your healthcare provider right away if you have sudden vision loss in one or both eyes

  • sudden hearing decrease or hearing loss. Some people may also have ringing in their ears (tinnitus) or dizziness

  • Muscle pain, tenderness and weakness (myopathy). Muscle problems, including muscle breakdown, can be serious in some people and rarely cause kidney damage that can lead to death. Tell your healthcare provider right away if:

    • you have unexplained muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness, especially if you have a fever or feel more tired than usual, while you take Tadalafil + Atorvastatin.

    • you have muscle problems that do not go away even after your healthcare provider has told you to stop taking Sildenafil + Tadalafil + Atorvastatin. Your doctor may do further tests to diagnose the cause of your muscle problems.

    • Your chances of getting muscle problems are higher if you:

    • are taking certain other medicines while you take Tadalafil + Atorvastatin.

    • are 65 years of age or older

    • have thyroid problems (hypothyroidism) that are not controlled

    • have kidney problems

  • Liver problems. Call your healthcare provider right away if you have any of the following symptoms of liver problems:

    • feel unusually tired or weak

    • loss of appetite

    • upper belly pain

    • dark urine

    • yellowing of your skin or the whites of your eyes

  • Protein and blood in the urine. Tadalafil + Atorvastatin may cause you to have protein and blood in your urine. If you develop protein or blood in your urine, tell your healthcare provider right away.

  • Increase in blood sugar (glucose) levels. Tadalafil + Atorvastatin may cause an increase in your blood sugar levels.

The most common side effects with Tadalafil + Atorvastatin are: headache, flushing, abnormal vision; such as changes in color vision (such as having a blue color tinge) and blurred vision, upset stomach, heartburn, stuffy or runny nose, back pain, dizziness, diarrhea, urinary tract infection, joint pain, muscle pain, muscle spasms, nausea, and rash.

If you experience signs or symptoms of an allergic reaction, including swelling of the face, lips, or tongue; difficulty swallowing or breathing; wheezing; hives; flushing of the skin; or itching of the throat or ears, stop taking Tadalafil + Atorvastatin and seek medical attention immediately.

Tadalafil + Atorvastatin does not protect against sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV.
